What is Help Build London?
Over the next five years construction employment in London is forecast to grow. This is mainly due to major infrastructure projects such as Crossrail 2 and the Thames Tideway Tunnel. Other major regeneration projects that are already underway include Silvertown Quays and Croydon Town Centre.
This will provide job opportunities not just for skilled trades but also for project managers, technical and IT staff, administrative and HR roles as well as catering services.
As the construction industry expands, Prospects which provides the National Careers Service in London is raising awareness of the opportunities in construction. One of the ways Prospects will do this is through its new App called Help Build London.
What does the App do?
Input your skills into the app and see what types of job might be suitable for you in the construction industry. You can then access up-to-date information about those jobs from the National Careers Service. Using data for London, supplied by the UK Commission for Employment & Skills and Warwick University, you can compare types of jobs to see how they will expand by 2020.
How can I get the App?
